If you have moved into a property and we don’t have 6 months of your energy history, we calculate your monthly payment by dividing your estimated annual cost by 12 to get equal monthly instalments. This takes into account seasonal variation and means you don’t have to pay more in the winter and less in the summer.
This means in the summer, when typically you will be using less energy, you will build up credit that is used in the winter- when most customers use the most energy. Again, in the winter, we expect you to be in debit.
If you have lived at your property for at least 6 months, we will use your historical usage to predict your annual cost.
